Packing

Pack for a week of weather and a lake

One duffel bag, with your camper's first name inside every item.

  • Three sleeping bags rolled in a row on a cabin floor by a window

    Bedding

Cabins have bunks and mattresses. Campers bring the rest.

    • A sleeping bag or sheets and a blanket

    • A pillow

    • A bag for dirty laundry

  • A row of small rain boots on a cabin porch, mud on the soles

    Clothes for every weather

Mornings are cool and afternoons can be hot, and rain comes through.

    • Shorts, long pants and a warm layer

    • A rain jacket and boots

    • Closed-toe shoes for the woods

  • Wooden canoe paddles leaning against a dock post beside a row of orange life jackets

    For the lake

Every camper swims and paddles, and the camp provides the life jackets.

    • Two swimsuits and two towels

    • Water shoes

    • A hat with a brim and sunscreen

  • Daypacks in a row on a wooden bench with water bottles beside them

    A daypack and a bottle

For activity periods, the ropes course and the walk to the lake.

    • A small daypack

    • A refillable water bottle

    • A pair of sunglasses, if your camper likes them

  • A camp lantern on a picnic table beside a stack of tin plates

    For the night path

Paths between cabins and the lodge are dark after the evening program.

    • A flashlight with spare batteries

    • Pajamas and slippers

    • A stuffed animal, if your camper wants one

  • A compass, a wooden whistle and a folded bandana on a log

    For trip campers

Older campers who join a river trip bring a few extras.

    • A trip pack the camp lends

    • Quick-dry clothes

    • A compass is nice to have, and the camp has spares

At the gate

Some things stay home

Phones, tablets, watches and cameras stay home, and so does anything of value that your camper would hate to lose. Food and candy stay out of the cabins too, because mice and bears are part of the Catskills.

If your camper needs something we haven't listed, call the office and we will tell you.

  • Phones, tablets, watches and cameras

  • Food, candy and gum in the cabins

  • Valuables and jewelry

A plain wooden camp gate and a dirt road leading into the pines
